Account Manager
Summary:
The Account Manager is the champion of the client and is responsible for guiding the client through the Clinicient experience and for creating highly satisfied, reference clients. The Account Manager will engage with the client to properly set expectations, guide the client through the implementation process, serve as the client’s primary point of contact for support and work proactively and collaboratively with the client and internal partners to align company and client resources to ensure the maximization of revenue and payment recovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Account Manager’s primary responsibilities include:
• Supporting the sales process by demonstrating the Clinicient solution for improving client revenue and payment recovery, setting client expectations, and working with the client to develop a “Go-Live” plan.
• Ensuring the client experience with implementation and training is positive and effective by working to resolve issues and serving as first line client support during the implementation and training process.
• Working collaboratively with the client and internal operations to ensure that each client’s financial metrics (A/R days, A/R aging, revenue goals) meet or exceed established standards.
• Preparing periodic reporting to client and internal management documenting Clinicient performance. Identifying and analyzing out of compliance trends and working with client, billing teams, product management, etc. to identify and implement solutions.
• Maintaining positive customer relationships by serving as client’s internal advocate and demonstrating a willingness to roll-up their sleeves and do what it takes to resolve issues and improve client service.
• Identifying and articulating unmet client needs to product and operations management for resolution.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Training and mentoring of client billing teams.
• Ad hoc projects as requested
• Limited travel to client locations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 2-3 years previous experience in healthcare account management and/or customer service.
• Strong knowledge of medical billing including commercial payer, Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ compensation and patient responsibility is highly desirable.
• Bachelor degree highly desirable but not required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Customer focused with a passion for identifying and solving customer problems.
• Exceptional customer facing written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively with a variety of external and internal constituents.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, and to recognize and resolve ambiguous or conflicting objectives.
• Ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data.
• In depth knowledge of Excel with the ability to customize reports and perform custom analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly interdependent team environment
• Must be willing to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment
SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITY
The Account Manager will interface directly with customers and their decisions and actions will have a high impact on customer satisfaction. The individual in this position will be expected to make some independent decisions which will may not be guided by clearly stated standards and processes. Work is generally performed under limited supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed primarily in an office environment. Significant portions of the job require extended sedentary periods, constant work with computers (including extended period of keyboarding), and repetitive motion of hands and wrists. Some limited travel to client locations may be required.
