Role Summary

The Payer Set-Up Analyst is a key player in the Operations Team.  They are tasked with the responsibility of timely and accurate execution of the payer set up, so bills can go out correctly the first time.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Keep up-to-date payer enrollment processes and maintain approval turnaround times.
  • Familiarity with top payer enrollment applications.
  • Provides support to Operations department for regulatory billing compliance issues as requested/required.
  • Review/Correct payer settings based upon Companion and Billing Guidelines to ensure accurate set up and billing.
  • Verification of new client’s contracts, credentialing status, provider numbers, and effective dates to ensure accurate set up for clean billing.
  • Develop and maintain payer knowledge and rules.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research payer requirements for ad hoc projects.
  • Change over Pay to Address for Total Insight Clients.
  • Be very inquisitive in regards to the intentions of the client and insurance company.
  • Be passionate and assertive in problem solving.
  • Identify way to continuously streamline process and automate where possible.
  • Subject Matter Expert for enrollment and credentialing related issues.
  • Provide guidance back to customers on credentialing and enrollment needs.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience with denial management, billing, and collections experience required.
  • Previous experience with Medicaid and worker comp payers highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Excel and Word required.
  • Clearinghouse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple clinic Tax ID and NPI experience a plus.
