Role Summary

The QA Engineer is responsible for working with the software development team, product management, and customer support to create a high level of customer satisfaction by assuring the quality of the Clinicient software product offering. They will be responsible for learning new processes and maintaining quality and efficiency with existing and new product development.

The position will interface primarily with internal staff and will have a moderate to high level of impact on customer satisfaction based on customers’ experience with Clinicient’s product, the release process, and the presence and severity of software bugs not detected through the QA process. The nature of the position entails frequent new and varied work situations with a high degree of complexity. There are established and well-known procedures, although the individual is expected to operate with little direct supervision.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders and product team to define risk based test plans around specific workflows, features, and capabilities
  • Write and maintain a combination of manual and automated tests
  • Executing tests to identify defects in a given change set
  • Articulate detailed defect reports to ensure developer reproduction and timely resolution
  • Work on a scrum team to meet sprint commitments
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance projects to improve test coverage in a variety of areas including integration with third party systems, performance, security, and data quality

  • Diplomatic and tactful in difficult situations
  • Strong attention to detail, investigative, and creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must work well in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Working knowledge of scripting technologies such as Test Complete, Selenium, SQL Server Management Studio or similar
  • Proven experience writing automated tests
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, C#, .Net, web-based applications, web services (traditional, RESTful)

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software quality assurance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience testing third party integrations preferred
  • Working knowledge of defect tracking systems and build environments
  • Familiarity with US Healthcare industry and HL7 standards desired
