Sales Development Representative

Role Summary

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities in Target Accounts for the Regional Sales Consultants and Strategic Sales Consultants. As part of the lead generation team, the SDR manages the inbound lead activity, qualifying active buying interest and developing opportunity in prospect accounts. The SDR will also coordinate with the sales team to determine the accounts that require research and prospecting activities to secure a sufficient flow of additional qualified opportunities. An implicit responsibility of the SDR is to conduct business dealings in a way that creates a superior prospect experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow-up, as well as future product sales.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop sales ready leads and opportunities from lead generation activities, inbound prospect leads and outbound calling into targeted accounts
  • Interact with prospects via telephone and email to uncover pain points, explain the Clinicient solution, identify opportunities and generate interest
  • Utilize consultative approach to evaluate and understand customer’s business and needs
  • Communicate Clinicient value proposition and tailor to prospect needs
  • Disseminate opportunities to appropriate sales representative, educating rep as necessary about the opportunity and recommend appropriate follow-up action items
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
  • Work in conjunction with sales representatives to develop superior relationships with prospects
  • Provide closed-loop feedback to ensure continuous process optimization
  • Gain knowledge of territory and client base
  • Be internal expert on resources available to sales team (ex. Case studies, white papers, etc.)
  • Liaison to marketing for lead generation campaigns and other marketing initiatives
  • Assist with pre and post conference leads
  • Strategize with sales representative on opportunity management plan
  • Provide feedback on objections and competitive issues
  • Maintain and customize CRM application as needed
  • Participate in marketing campaigns, message testing and lead process optimization.
  • Ad hoc projects as requested.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience interacting with prospects via telephone and email
  • Training in solution selling or similar consultative selling models a plus
  • Experience and understanding of healthcare, EMR, Practice Management, Revenue cycle and/or SaaS-based BPO a plus.
