VP of Sales

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Sales will expand Clinicient’s national sales and business development strategy while maximizing market awareness, knowledge, interest, desire, and action (AKIDA) for Clinicient solutions among prospective customers.  This individual will serve as a key executive team member owning overall sales strategy, sales team leadership, process and sales results, and lead the creation and execution of marketing programs that result in lead generation and, ultimately, revenue attainment.

VP of Sales


  • Translate sales strategy into goals and operational plans. Systematically measure performance versus plan; results versus expectations.
  • Track and communicate current trends, opportunities, and activities to facilitate informed decision making and strategic objection formulation.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships including brand recognition for the organization and its products and ensure the organization excels in meeting the evolving needs of its target customers and core markets.
  • Drive national sales agenda by focusing on major cross country initiatives or channel strategies.
  • Bring expertise in selling enterprise solutions (software, consulting, and services) to physician networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them.
  • Be able to structure internal processes so that Clinicient is highly effective in tackling all sales opportunities.
  • Bring best practices for pipeline management and maintain an accurate sales forecast.
  • Bring a track record of year-over-year sales increases.
  • Be highly skilled at building trust with his/her customer base and through that trust be instrumental in driving sales, closing large deals, and growing the business.
  • Formulates Clinicient’s strategic marketing vision, and translates that vision into the implementation of tactical, market-facing programs that drive the AKIDA process.
  • Manages the company’s lead generation, fulfillment, and cultivation process, to ensure that the Clinicient sales engine is fueled by a consistent flow of quality sales leads; also ensures that existing leads are pushed through the AKIDA funnel in an effective and expeditious manner.
  • Orchestrates all market-facing, lead-related activity including traditional marketing (sales collateral, presentations, advertising, events, sponsorships, media relations, etc.) and digital marketing (Website, CRM/marketing automation, SEO/SEM, PPC banner ads, etc.).
  • Works in concert with the Strategy organization to develop SWOT-based marketing programs designed to leverage strengths, fortify weaknesses, seize opportunities, and nullify threats in the competitive environment.
  • Ensure an on-going wellspring of fresh “content” – whitepapers, customer case studies, “How-to” articles, success stories, technical shoot-outs, etc. – to fuel the Clinicient content marketing strategy.
  • Supports the executive team’s internal and external communications activities.
  • Serves as steward of the Clinicient brand and market image.
  • Experience training and coaching sales managers to maximize revenue through effective inventory management and ‘lead from the front’ management techniques.
  • Lead and motivate the sales and marketing teams to accept personal responsibility for the success of Clinicient’s sales and marketing efforts, as the foundation for the Company’s overall success.
  • Instills and maintains a sense of urgency and ownership in the sales and marketing culture.
  • Ability to lead growth and motivate cross functional teams to achieve success demonstrating a collaborative style.
  • Develop and coach direct reports in line with key competencies and behaviors.
  • 30% travel required.


  • BA or BS with an advanced degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 10+ years’ sales management experience (5 years at national level).
  • Relevant healthcare experience in sales, business development, marketing, and product development with healthcare payer.
  • Come from a background in Revenue Cycle Management, Billing Services, Healthcare Payer, Management Consulting, or Healthcare Solutions (like electronic health records, practice management, patient management) where organization revenues are in excess of $100M annually.
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating national sales organizations and marketing programs.
  • Be a strong and high EQ coach and mentor.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be innovative and resourceful in conceiving marketing plans that are both effective and cost-effective.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of best-in-class traditional and digital marketing methods.

This position is performed primarily in an office environment. Significant portions of the job require extended sedentary periods, constant work with computers (including extended period of keyboarding), and repetitive motion of hands and wrists. Some limited travel to client locations may be required.
