PQRS Requirements for Physical Therapy - Clinicient

  • Physical Therapist talks about Case Management

Clinicient helps us by taking information right from the therapists notes to populate the fields G-Codes and PQRS. There is not double-work for the therapist. It's just part of the note they are already doing.

Avoid PQRS penalties and eliminate reporting headaches with Clinicient.

PQRS once was a way for eligible professionals to receive a nice bonus for reporting quality data.  That all changed. Now, if you fail to report PQRS data, you can be penalized up to 2% on future Medicare payments. But don't worry, we've got you covered. Our all-in-one system makes PQRS reporting a seamless part of your documentation process, making it easy and efficient for practices to:

  • Avoid PQRS penalties
  • Capture and report PQRS data seamlessly
  • Ensure accurate and efficient reporting

Best of all, Clinicient's documentation software is designed to automatically prompt therapists about eligible PQRS measurements as they are due. Plus, there's no additional cost to report with Clinicient unlike with other solutions.

2016 PQRS reporting requirements

The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS, formerly PQRI) is a voluntary Medicare quality reporting program. Originally, the program offered a small financial bonus for participation. More recently, the bonus incentives have now been phased out and replaced by financial penalties for non-participation. Eligible professionals (including physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists) who do not participate in the program or do not meet minimum requirements for reporting quality measures between January 1, 2016-December 31, 2016 will be subject to a 2.0% adjustment in their fee schedule amount in 2018. To avoid a 2 percent payment reduction in 2018 therapists must:

  • Report on nine measures (or 1-8 as applicable, going through the MAV process) on 50 percent of eligible patients
  • Report on one cross cutting measure in 2015
